Abstract
The Schwarzschild, Reissner-Nordström, and Kerr exterior solutions in general relativity are reconsidered adding to the vacuum a massless scalar field. The event horizons in the modified solutions all reduce to a point, thus preventing the formation of black holes.Keywords
