Abstract
Effecting change is an integral part of the nurse executive's role. Reasons for resistance to change are examined and stages in acceptance of change are given. Some of the nurse executive's resources for implementing change are identified and discussed. Factors of attitudinal and behavioral change are considered. This article is a chapter in the author's new book, “The Nurse as Executive,” to be published soon by Contemporary Publishing, Inc., Wakefield, Massachusetts. Keywords
