Zur Problematik der Bestimmung des Sauerstoffpartialdruckes mit dem Mikroanalysenverfahren bei Herz- und Lungenkranken

Abstract
By simultaneous measurement of the PO2 in capillary blood from the hyperemic ear lobe and blood from the brachial artery it was shown that the variation between the 2 in 23 patients with cardiac insufficiency was within the limits of +10% to -20%, while in 25 miners with varying degrees of silicosis it amounted to [plus or minus]10%. In cases of a simultaneously occurring cardiac insufficiency the PO2 in the capillary blood was definitely less than in arterial blood. Experimental investigations demonstrated a widening of the difference between capillary and arterial PO2 depending on the extent of the peripheral stasis.
