Abstract

A multiwavelength erbium-doped fiber ring laser is obtained using a spatial mode beating filter, utilizing a multimode optical fiber sample into a single-mode optical fiber ring cavity. The simultaneous laser emission is studied varying the spectral period of the filter. Up to six laser wavelengths inside the erbium gain band are simultaneously observed.
