Abstract
Electrical properties of some ferroelectric layer-structure oxides related to bismuth titanate have been studied on grain-oriented ceramics. The specimens were prepared by the hot-forging method. The ceramics were highly anisotropic: the ratio of dielectric constants perpendicular and parallel to the forging axis was 3.9–12.3 at the Curie point. Ferroelectric properties of a hot-forged La x Bi4-x Ti3O12 (0≦x≦1) system were compared with ordinarily fired ones. The remanent polarization P r perpendicular to the forging axis was much larger than P r observed in the latter. The hot-forged ceramics of La0.75Bi3.25Ti3O12 are probably useful for piezoelectric materials. Keywords
