Psychiatric morbidity in patients with chronic airflow obstruction

Abstract
Fifty consecutive patients with chronic airflow obstruction unit were admitted to a respiratory unit were assessed medically and psychiatrically. A high rate of psychiatric morbidity (58%) was detected with panic and other anxiety disorders (34%) being particularly prevalent.
