Abstract
This paper is presented as "research for family policy." Its purpose is to outline the social consequences of divorce to the divorcing person for use by social policymakers at both the micro and macro levels. An integrative review of the available research concerning the social situation of divorced persons, five metapolicy guidelines, and examples of possible policy implementations relating to divorced persons are presented.
