Abstract
Comparison of American-born Japanese in Calif, with children same sex and age born in Japan. Calif. Nisei significantly taller, heavier, more advanced in skeletal development. Calif. boys (6-19 yrs.) and girls (6-14 yrs.) taller by amount greater than total increase in average stature in Japan since 1900. Calif. boys 5-7 yrs. retarded in skeletal development compared to Cleveland Whites; no differences 8-12 yrs.; from 13-17 yrs. Calif. boys significantly advanced. Calif. girls 10-17 yrs. also advanced.Keywords
