Wavelength division multiplexing experiment employing dual-wavelength LEDs and photodetectors

Abstract
The performance of a wavelength-division-multiplexed light-wave system employing dual-wavelength InGaAsP LEDs and photodiodes near 1 μm and 1.3 μm wavelengths is reported. The dual-wavelength receiver, operated at 33 Mbit/s, provided −38.5 dBm and −39.7 dBm sensitivities at 10−9 BER in the two wavelength bands, respectively.
