Abstract
We report the discovery of 870 Hz quasi-periodic intensity oscillations with the Rossi X-Ray Timing Explorer from the X-ray burster 4U 1636-536. This is the fourth Galactic low-mass X-ray binary (LMXB) that has shown this type of oscillations. We present the fractional rms amplitude as a function of energy and compare the characteristics of these oscillations with those discovered in other sources. Keywords
