Abstract
We discuss certain difficulties inherent in quantizing a a Yang-Mills field theory in the Coulomb gauge. We show that the ambiguities recently found by Gribov necessitate additional terms in the Hamiltonian of the theory. These terms do not affect ordinary perturbative calculations but may be important in a nonperturbative treatment. Keywords
