Abstract
Six instances of Dieulafoy''s lesion, [abnormally large gastric submucosal artery which ruptures into the stomach causing massive intragastric bleeding], 2 of which were diagnosed endoscopically preoperatively are presented. Endoscopic electrocoagulation was used in 2 instances, one with success, and this may have a place in the treatment of these lesions. Oversewing alone of the lesion seems to be sufficient surgical treatment, if nonoperative measures, such as selective arterial embolization or endoscopic electrocoagulation fail or are unavailable.
