Abstract
Color Doppler sonography is a useful technique for rapid, noninvasive evaluation of venous disease in the upper extremity. It has been used successfully to evaluate thrombosis related to indwelling central catheters. In addition, Doppler sonography shows promise for monitoring thrombolytic therapy after "effort thrombosis" and detecting intermittent venous compression related to thoracic outlet syndrome. Keywords
