The origin of29Si spin–lattice relaxation in zeolites: a means of rapid acquisition of n.m.r. spectra and of probing internal sites in microporous catalysts

Abstract
The paramagnetic oxygen molecule is the dominant source of 29Si spin–lattice relaxation in zeolites with intracrystalline water playing a much smaller part; n.m.r. signals corresponding to crystallographically non-equivalent sites relax at different rates in the vicinity of sorbed oxygen.
