Abstract
We give a short review of the experimental behavior of ferroelectric and antiferro-electric liquid crystal phases in free-standing films with emphasis on the smectic-A - ferroelectric smectic-C and ferroelectric smectic-C - antiferroelectric smectic-CA phase transitions.Keywords
