Abstract
The illness rate of acute respiratory diseases among school age children in a Westchester County town in which u.-v. irradiation was used in the school was compared with those of a nearby town in which there was no attempt made at u.-v. irradiation. The weekly incidence of such illness was strikingly similar in the 2 communities. This similarity was not confined to open window seasons when air sanitation by u.-v. was less effective. Acute respiratory illness in the 2 communities followed a similar epidemiological pattern regardless of the use of u.-v. light in one community. Keywords
