Abstract
The temperature dependence of the epecific heat of aimple crystale at temperatures well above the Debye temperature is estimated by using, as a simple model, the two-atom anharmonic oscillator. It is found that the difference between C v and the Dulong and Petit value is not much less than the difference between C p and C v. There is rough agreement with experiment. Keywords
