Abstract
The second pressure virial coefficient and the second and third dielectric virial coefficients for SF6, CClF3, and mixtures of the two have been measured at 50°C and densities up to 5.3 mol l−1. For pure SF6, , for pure CClF3, , both ± 0.4 cm6/mol2. Analysis of the results using the Kielich multipole formalism gives a hexadecapole moment of 0.005 esu·nm4 for SF6 and an octopole component corresponding to 0.01 esu·nm3 for CClF3.
