Effect of Thyroxine on Oxygen Consumption of Bovine Spermatozoa and Semen

Abstract
The addition of 7 micrograms % d,l-thyroxine to diluted bovine spermatozoa and semen increased O2 consumption in semen samples having a spermatozoan concn. in the original semen of from 800,000 to 1,400,000 per cu. mm. The avg. O2 consumption of semen samples with an original spermatozoan concn. of less than 800,000 per cu. mm. was not affected.
