Abstract
Intimate journals constitute an underutilized source of information about the experience of aging. Such journals can be used in the manner of case studies to illustrate empirical findings and theoretical constructs and can also be used as sources of hypotheses for further research. This paper analyzes one such journal, Florida Scott-Maxwell's The Measure of My Days. Scott-Maxwell's journal contains suggestive ideas about the experience of aging among the old-old, about the theoretical issue of late life individuation, and about successful aging. Keywords
