Abstract
Different mixtures (6) of antibiotics used for treating heart valve allografts were compared and the formulation of the medium in current use is described. The abilities of antibiotic-resistant bacteria and of fungi with low sensitivities to antifungal agents to survive treatment are also described. These abilities emphasize the need for routine microbiological screening of every valve. Keywords
