Abstract
The larvae ofPinnotheres maculatus, say, a small commensal crab commonly found in the scallopAequipecten irradians, have been reared from hatching to the crab stage under laboratory conditions. The zoeae were reared at 30%. 25°C and fed recently hatchedArtemia, nauplii and fertilizedArbacia eggs. The five zoeal stages and one megalops stage are described and figured. The larvae ofP. maculatus can be distinguished from all others which have been described on the basis of general morphological features.Keywords
