Abstract
We show that the equivalent-particle theory provides a global picture of the dynamics of beams incident upon both nonlinear interfaces and nonlinear waveguides. New results are presented for the nonlinear interface with diffusive and integrating nonlinearities as well as for three-dimensional calculations for a nonlinear waveguide. Keywords
