Abstract
Even before the distraught patient completes her spontaneous abortion her first question is "Why can't I carry a baby?" Her next questions are "When can I try again?" and "Can't you give me some treatment which will help me carry through?" Extensive literature shrouds the moot question of what is the matter with the patient. Equally extensive literature propounds various therapeutic efforts. This paper proposes to treat the question of when the patient is prepared (so far as the uterine mucosa and ovulatory processes are concerned) for her next pregnancy. Dr. J. Whitridge Williams has summarized in classic fashion the investigations made into the problem of the regeneration of the uterine mucosa, and his special interest effectively completed our knowledge of the fate of the placental site. His two papers1 exhaustively review the entire field as well as illustrate lavishly his own observations made in 19 cases. The firstThis publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
