Abstract
This article considers the response of traditionalist Christians to the School Curriculum and Assessment Authority's Model Syllabuses for Religious Education as represented by Colin Hart's pamphlet RE Changing the Agenda. It questions the right of those who think in this way to seek to impose their own agenda on religious education, and in particular to engage in criticism of others who are equally concerned for the welfare of religious education but who do not share some of their views. It suggests that co‐operation between all those who wish to see improvements in religious education will be more effective than factional strife. Keywords
