Abstract
The importance of swelling corrections in the field-theoretic model describing an isolated, unscreened polyelectrolyte chain below six dimensions is examined using the renormalization theory of higher composite operators. Evidence is given of the relevance of these corrections below an unspecified dimension d* < 6, when the unphysical exact result ν = 2/( d - 2) breaks down and the system is described by a new modelKeywords
