Abstract
Measurements are made of the luminescence from hot electrons in ZnS Schottky diodes. The luminescence, which consists of a broad band in the visible and near infrared, is interpreted in terms of transitions of hot electrons within the conduction band. Information on the conduction band structure is obtained from the shape of the spectrum. Information about the hot-electron distribution is obtained from measurements of the intensity of the emission as a function of field. Keywords
