Resonance Neutron Capture in the Even-AIsotopes of Tungsten

Abstract
The γ-ray spectra following neutron capture in the 4.14- and 21.2-eV resonances of W182 and the 18.8-eV resonance of W186 have been observed with a 6-cc Ge(Li) detector. Transitions corresponding to the W182(n, γ)W183 reaction have also been observed in the 115- and 250-eV resonances. In a special experiment, using a NaI detector, the absolute width of the ground-state transition for the 4.14-eV in resonance W182 was determined relative to the ground-state transition for the 7.62-eV resonance in W183.
