Abstract

The partial osmotic pressure of the protein ions was determined in hemoglobin solutions. The results obtained by the new and more general method used agree within 1-6% with provisional values previously reported. This is important in making allowance for the effect of the unequal distribution of diffusible ions in systems of the type employed.
