Abstract
Following the method used by Leopold and Thimann, plants of Petkus rye and Wintex barley were injected with auxin (NAA). The flowering behavior of Petkus rye was not affected. With Wintex barley, in 2 experiments out of 4, low concn. increased while high concn. decreased the number of flower primordia. The results thus confirm the experimental findings of Leopold and Thimann, but there is no evidence in either case of any determinable effect on flower initiation; some effect of auxin on post-initiation growth of the ear may be indicated. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
