Abstract
Under the International Code the correct generic name for the apple-scab organism appears to be Phaeosphaerella Venturia must be used for another genus now known as Gibbera. V. inaequalis and P. typhae have been incorrectly designated the neotypes of these genera. To retain current usage, a proposal for the conservation of Venturia Sacc. over Venturia De Not. is made, which results in the following synonymy: Venturia Sacc. nom. conserv. (= Phaeosphaerella Karst. = Endostigme Syd. = Spilosticta Syd. emend. Petr.) and Gibbera Fr. (= Venturia De Not. nom. rejic. = Protoventuria Berl. and Sacc.).This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
