Appendiceal Lesions in the Prodromal Stage of Measles

Abstract
Four cases illustrating the characteristic giant cells in the lymphoid tissue of the appendix, such as occur in the pre-eruptive stage of measles are reported. Because of the danger of overlooking acute appendicitis which may be simulated under these circumstances, it is regarded as advisable to operate in those cases in which the clinical findings suggest acute appendicitis.
