Abstract
A shock wave model is applied to analyze the non-linear sputtering yields in heavy-ion bombardments on high Z materials. The Sn 3/2 dependence of sputtering yields is found to fit experimental data systematically, where Sn denotes the nuclear stopping power.Keywords
