Abstract
A. method is described for calculating the patterns of arrays of axial-slot antennas mounted on the surface of a metallic cylinder. The method of calculation gives information on the relative phase of the radiated field in addition to the amplitude. Measurements have been made for certain of the antennas to verify the accuracy of the calculations. A number of calculated patterns are shown to indicate the extent of the control of the pattern which can be obtained by using arrays of slots on a cylinder. Keywords
