Abstract
Enteral alimentation via small soft feeding tubes is becoming more common as the importance of nutrition is recognized in the debilitated patient. The monofilament wire stylets that stiffen these tubes during their insertion may cause potentially lethal bronchopleural complications unless correct insertion techniques are used and the tube's position is carefully checked before starting enteral nutrition. Keywords
