Abstract
The dynamic behaviour of complex-coupled DFB lasers with an in-phase absorptive grating is theoretically analysed by including the rate equation of the absorptive grating. Experimental results confirm the predictions of the model. These include possible instabilities near threshold and a carrier-induced red shift of the wavelength, which has been measured for the first time. Keywords
