Abstract
Medical undergraduates may be taught psychiatric consultation skills by reviewing videotaped interviews which they have conducted with patients. To date, there is a paucity of research regarding students' evaluation of this method of teaching and its impact on their attitudes to psychiatry. In this study, medical undergraduates' opinions regarding video interview training and their attitudes to psychiatry were assessed after completion of a psychiatric clerkship. Although some students described embarrassment at seeing themselves on screen, the overall response to video training was positive. There was no relationship between students' evaluation of video training and their attitudes to psychiatry. Keywords
