A Discussion of Laser Conditions and the Use of Polarized Nuclei in Grasers

Abstract
A high frequency limitation is derived for y-ray lasers (grasers) from the conditions for the laser threshold. At low temperatures, the use of polarized nuclei should facilitate the roduction and observation of graser action using 'Q switching' by magnetic rotation of the polarization axis.
