Abstract
Spectral profiles of lambda 492.2 nm, lambda 501.5 nm and lambda 504.7 nm have been studied under high resolution and show effects due to excitation mechanisms. This suggests a new explanation of the anomalous behaviour of resonance-broadened helium lines observed in earlier experiments. Keywords
