Abstract
The deduced amino acid sequences of cDNA clones encoding human GABAA receptor α1 and β1 subunits are presented. The human subunits display very high levels of sequence identity with the corresponding bovine receptor subunits. The cloned human GABAA receptor subunits induce the formation of GABA-gated chloride channels when expressed in mammalian cells. Keywords
