Abstract
An LCAO technique for calculating band structures is discussed in detail and the method is applied to the stoichiometric alloy YZn. The predicted Fermi surface is compared with experimental observations and satisfactory agreement is obtained. This shows the LCAO model to be of value in the study of alloys. Keywords
