Abstract
This paper presents an assessment of the health status of the Singaporean population by the Health Utilities Index (HUI) Mark 3 system. The HUI approach is a generic health status measure that uses a Multi-Attribute Health Status Classification (MAHSC) system. The assessment describes the health status of the population on eight aspects or dimensions of health: seeing, hearing, speaking, walking, use of hands and fingers, feelings, memory and thinking, and pain. Differences in health status among different socio-economic and demographic groups are discussed. The results of the study may help to better understand population health and health care needs and to plan health care services. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
