Abstract
Analysis of polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) was carried out by gas chromatography employing short, wall coated capillary columns. The samples were injected directly onto a short precolumn of the splittless injector system and detected by flame ionization. Excellent reproducibility, high sensitivity and high resolution between individual isomers of PAH's, in comparison to regular packed columns, were obtained. A detailed description of the requirements for routine usage of laboratory-made glass capillary columns and their application to environmental samples is described. Keywords
