Abstract
The spectrum-generating algebra for the problem of a particle in a potential well is shown to be su(1,1). Both the infinitely deep and finite square wells are considered. The generators can also be derived via a systematic procedure for determining the time-dependent constants of the motion. The coherent states are explicitly constructed. Keywords
