Abstract
The similarities between erysipelas in animals and rheumatic diseases in man have been discussed. The present work investigates the course of organ manifestations [particularly rheumatic changes] in pigs, rats, and mice using germ-free or specific pathogen-free experimental animals [parenterally injected with erysipelas bacteria]. Particular consideration is given to the initial systemic vascular processes and the significance of the erysipelas antigen. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
