Effectiveness of KC1 and NaCl injections in arousing 13-lined ground squirrels from hibernation

Abstract
Injections of relatively concentrated solutions of KC1 were more effective in arousing 13-lined ground squirrels from hibernation than injections of NaCl solutions of equal osmolarity. The result supports the theory that metabolic end products trigger arousals.
