Abstract
Plate counts of viable bacteria in estuarine water samples were made using seven standard agar media. Highest counts were obtained on Anderson's medium which is therefore recommended for general estuarine use. The composition of Anderson's medium was peptone 2.5 g, yeast extract 2.5 g, FePO4 0.1 g and agar 15.0 g, made up to 11 with artificial estuary water. This publication has 12 references indexed in Scilit:
