Abstract
The behavior of the density of electronic energy levels for a simple model of a disordered system is studied in the limit of very low energies. By reformulating the problem as one in Brownian motion, it proves possible to obtain the leading term and the first correction to it. The leading term is just the one already conjectured by Lifshitz. Keywords
