Abstract
The design and construction of a special recorder using a domestic tape-deck for this purpose is described. By using flip-flop circuits a defined paralysis time, longer than the resolving time of the tape, is introduced before recording. This ensures exact reproduction of recorded counts. Multitrack instruments have proved useful in clinical radioisotope work. For example, in kidney function tests the recorder has been used to play back several separate functions simultaneously into pen recorders. Repeated tracings may be made with various ratemeter settings and paper speeds. Integration of the concentration/time curve in cardiac output measurements has been facilitated by applying the recorder output to a scaler. Keywords
