Abstract
Health care traditionally focuses on the individual and not the family unit. Models of care for those infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) may not successfully meet the needs of a family where more than one member is infected. This article examines whether family-centred care provides an appropriate model for the organization and delivery of quality care to families affected by HIV.Keywords
